Under Armour Made Olympic Sneakers for Michael Phelps
Exclusive colorways of the Architech trainer and SpeedForm Slingshot running shoe.
The 2016 Rio Olympics start on Friday, but before the games begin, Under Armour's getting one of its top athletes in the competitive spirit with a set of customized sneakers.
Under Armour's 3D-printed Architech trainer—which released in a limited run back in March and sold out immediately—will receive a patriotic white-based makeover, while the brand's knitted SpeedForm Slingshot runner gets a blue and white treatment.
Aside from the USA colors, it's the hidden details that make these especially sentimental for Phelps. Each sneaker features a footprint of the swimmer's three-month-old son, Boomer.
As of now, it looks like this colorway of the Architech will remain a Phelps exclusive, however you can pick up the SpeedForm Slingshot colorway pictured here—sans Boomer's footprints—for $120 from ua.com.
