There's flashy. There's crazy. But neither of those words would do Nike's latest Mercurial any justice.

Earlier today, Nike officially unveiled its "What the Mercurial" Superfly, an absolutely insane boot featuring a colorful mosaic of 16 previous iterations of its flagship soccer model. The "Mercurial" logo seen on the heel, aglets, and footbed is derived from four previous Mercurial logos and additionally, the footbeds also feature the models that inspired this latest "What The" creation. In total, 18 different Mercurials were referenced to create this incredible model.

The Mercurial first debuted in 1998 and has grown to become one of the most popular models in the game and has been worn by some of the sport's greatest players.

Nike has announced that it will be releasing this silhouette on Thursday, May 5 in a limited edition run of 3,000 pairs. The boots will come in a special "What the Box" which features a "retrospective color mashup" and a "What the Bag" which showcases all of the Mercurials used in the making of the "What the Mercurial" Superfly.
