The Round Mound of Rebound aka Charles Barkley, is finally getting his next signature shoe from Nike. Although Barkley will obviously never lace these up to play, Nike was inspired by the hoops legend and designed a modernized sneaker for today's athlete, aptly named the Chuck Posite.
The Nike Chuck Posite is a follow up to the Barkley Posite Max which dropped in 2013. The futuristic design features sharply angled Hyperposite material, a ribbed heel, and is finished off with a icy translucent outsole. The debut colorway of the Chuck Posite comes with a carbon fiber silver Hyperposite, which is paired with black nubuck through the upper and features red and teal accent hits. Although the shoe is built with modern design and technologies, the weight and overall clunky look doesn't exactly fit into the lightweight feel today's basketball players are looking for.
The Nike Chuck Posite will retail for $200, and is scheduled to drop at select Nike Sportswear locations.
