Nike officially unveiled the KD VI "Bamboo" today, a great story colorway from designer Leo Chang.

This new Green/Bronze/Volt KD VI colorway is inspired by the traditional Chinese values associated with bamboo: balance, harmony, toughness and versatility. As the story goes, certain bamboo plants undergo a transformation in their fifth year, breaking through the ground after four years of nourishment to begin growing upwards at a rapid rate. This parallels Kevin Durant's fifth season in the NBA as he continues to ascend as a player.

The green and bronze upper, covered with a tonal bamboo graphic, represents the different growth stages of the bamboo plant. A special graphic liner represents the "Six Arts" of ancient Chinese culture, while the outsole features a unique KD logo derived from the Chinese character for bamboo.

The Nike KD VI "Bamboo" release on September 14 at select Nike Basketball accounts.
