Did Nick Young's Adidas deal hold him back? According to a tweet sent in jest by the baller this week, he would've been a contender for PJ Tucker's sneaker king throne had he not signed with the Three Stripes.

After Slam Kicks tweeted Tucker's sneakers of choice from Monday night—a pair of custom Nike KD IV iDs from 2012—and dubbed him the "unquestioned sneaker king," Young saw the opportunity to strike and make his own claim.

"That's because I went /// lol," Young said, referencing his 2015 signing with Adidas which resulted in him wearing Crazy Explosive PEs, debuting the Crazy BYW, and even rocking Yeezy Boost 750s on court.

"Swaggy P don't have no limits when it comes to shoes. As long as I can play I'm going to bring some heat out here," Young told Associated Press in 2015 following the signing.

Years later, it sounds like Young might be at least partially regretting his decision to align with the Three Stripes. Over the last few weeks, he's been spotted wearing a number of Nike sneakers, perhaps signaling an end to his Adidas deal.
