PUMA have dropped a clean new collab with basketball legend, Ralph Sampson. The collaboration sees the duo link up for the reissue of an iconic court silhouette, the PUMA Ralph Sampson OG.
To honour the NBA Hall-of-Famer, Ralph Sampson’s legacy, PUMA has recreated a pair of retro sneakers from its archives to relaunch the OG in all its glory. Having been signed by PUMA in the 80s, the pair took its basketball brand to the next level with their range of court shoes, and the classic silhouette looks as crisp as it did on its initial release all those years ago.
The silhouette features a full leather upper, retaining its refined feel and classic aesthetic. The sneaker will be available in hi and low-top versions that are dripped in a clean PUMA White / Gray Violet / Peacoat colourway, along with Sampson’s signature on the lateral sides.
PUMA created a custom-designed court silhouette, specifically for Sampson’s size 17 feet, with mid-height construction for ankle support, with a lightweight design for both speed and agility. The recreation of the silhouette keeps the same influences of the OG, with PUMA bringing the classic model into 2019 with a new street-styled editorial lookbook to showcase how the OG model effortlessly blends into the present day for a new generation of basketball fans.
