Retros may be what makes Jordan Brand go ‘round so it should come as no surprise that those colorways would reverberate through the sneaker world in ways that go beyond the OG silhouettes. Today’s Kicks of the Day draw inspiration from Jordan’s most famous shoe: the Black and Red Jordan 1.
These Air Force 1 Mids, done up in the “Bred” colorway are a nod to Jordan’s history while bringing in Nike’s most iconic shape. Where Jordan 1s can be dressed up into sophistication, the Air Force 1 remains a sneaker of the streets.
Like the shoe that was Banned from the NBA, the vamp, swoosh, and heel are a varsity red that matches the outsole and strap. Black leather covers the quarter and toe wrap. And keeping in line with tradition, the midsole is a bright white. Staying true to the Air Force 1 “Air” is printed in black on the heel of the midsole.
