According to reports from staffers at both CNBC and the Wall Street Journal, Hulu has received an offer to be bought out and is currently weighing its options. It's not yet clear who Hulu's suitor is, but CNBC says that it's NOT Google. As for who else might be interested in buying the popular TV Streaming site? We'll let your imagination have at that one.
Hulu is partly owned by NBCUniversal, NewsCorp and Disney, which also provide nearly all of its content. The tricky balance of those "old media" interests and Hulu's nature as a "new media" entity has more or less hindered the company from innovating and growing itself since its inception. If someone ends up buying Hulu, they will have to have a plan for keeping the content providers happy. More on this as the story develops.
