Southern Teens Still Have Lots of Babies

Using the most recent data from the National Center for Health Statistics, Vox has put together a map to visualize teen pregancy in the United States

Though teen pregnancy rates in the U.S. have been declining for years, Southern states still maintain remarkably high birth rates compared to the rest of the country. The piece notes, however, that contraceptive use has now become the norm for teens having sex for the first time. Hey, good job kids! 

Aside from geography, Vox also highlighted pregnancy info by other demographics such as race (Hispanics have the highest teen pregnancy rates, followed by African Americans, American Indians, Alaska natives, whites, and Asians) and financial well-being (predictably, teens from rich families get pregnant less).
