As the production for Bond 25 continues, fans were treated to a glimpse of the making of the movie.
The video above gives a behind-the-scenes look at the film, showing the director Cary Fukunaga working alongside Daniel Craig (James Bond), Jeffrey Wright (Felix Leiter), and Lashana Lynch (Nomi) as they shoot in Jamaica. Rami Malek, who is playing the movie's villain, lamented the fact that he had to miss out on the island excursion in order to shoot his own scenes in New York.
Maybe things haven't gone awry after all. Remember, Bond 25 has encountered several issues throughout its production. Fukunaga was placed at the helm of the film after Danny Boyle, who was originally set to direct, exited the project over "creative differences." This resulted in a delay for the release of the movie, after the Oct. 25, 2019 premiere date was pushed back to April 8, 2020.
There were rumors circulating that Fukunaga was also causing problems on set due to his affinity for his PS4, to which he responded in a lengthy statement on Instagram. "There’s not a minute on this job that isn’t scheduled," he said, adding, "and even during a shoot day, in the hours before call, between takes and setups, and after we wrap there’s always a line of dedicated and hard working department heads hungry to prep our next sequences, no one sleeps on this kind of job. So sure it’s hard, but it’s still the best job in the world and I’d never disrespect the hardest working cast and crew."
While filming in Jamaica last month, Craig also suffered a leg injury, which forced him to fly to the United States for treatment. Shortly after, he was seen working out, leg cast and all, which was a welcome sight for Bondfans.
Earlier this month, a member of the crew was injured after a "controlled explosion" on set caused damage to the production site at Pinewood Studios. The injuries sustained were minor.
On Monday, it was reported that a 49-year-old man, named Peter Hartley, was arrested for setting up cameras in a women's restrooms on set. Though it is not presently clear whether or not Hartley was a part of the film, Pinewood Studios stated, "We take this issue very seriously. We reported the incident to the police and are supporting them with their investigation."
