Actor Bill Paxton Dies at 61

Bill Paxton, star of films like 'Twister' and 'Apollo 13,' has passed away.

This morning, TMZ is reporting that actor Bill Paxton, star of films like Apollo 13Twister, and HBO's series Big Love died on Saturday due to complications from surgery. He was 61.

Michael Del Moro, a segment producer at Good Morning America, confirmed this news via Twitter.

ABC confirms actor Bill Paxton has died at 61. Representatives for the family:

Paxton's acting career spans back to 1975, and has included roles (major and minor) in everything from Aliens and Terminator to Weird Science and Titanic. He even starred alongside Ice Cube and Ice T in 1992's Trespass, playing a firefighter on the hunt for gold. His most recent role had him cast as Detective Frank Roarke in CBS' adaptation of Training Day.

Actors William Shatner, Elijah Wood, and others have expressed their condolences on Twitter.
