A new study claims that teen pregnancy and abortion rates have reached historic lows

Data from the Guttmacher Institute shows that birth, pregnancy and abortion statistics among teens ages 15 to 19 have bottomed out at a record rate. The respective number have dropped 15 percent over the past two years, and 51 percent since 1991. Furthermore, the rates have dropped across the entire population, including African-American and Hispanic teens.

According to lead author Kathryn Kost, the decline is the result of education about safe sex and greater access to condoms. Looks like the system is finally working.
