Despite the efforts, of Gov. Christ Christie, New Jersey will allow same-sex couples to marry later this month. Yesterday, Judge Mary C. Jacobson issued a decision which declared "there is no ‘public interest’ in depriving a class of New Jersey residents their constitutional rights while appellate review is pursued."

Jacobson's decision refuted the state's ridiculous claim that same-sex marriage will somehow damage the state of New Jersey irreparably, stating that preventing gay couples from marrying would "simply allow the State to continue to violate the equal protection rights of New Jersey same-sex couples, which can hardly be considered a public interest."

The state will begin issuing marriage licenses to same-sex couples on Oct. 21. JWoww 1, Chris Christie 0.
