Morning raids helped the NYPD execute one of New York City's largest recent gang busts.

NBC New York reports that around 6 a.m. this morning, police went after over 60 suspects on charges for drugs, conspiracy and conspiracy to commit murder. Over 400 officers took part in the raids, which took place in Harlem. NBC New York adds that over 100 suspected gang members are likely to be charged for their roles in up to 20 stabbings and shootings, as well as two murders.

According to the New York Daily News, the sting was organized to end feuds between rival gangs that resulted in violence like the murder of high school basketball standout Tayshana Murphy in Sep. 2011. Murphy, 18, was shot killed during the early hours of Sep. 10 while begging for mercy outside of her home.

The NYPD says this is the largest sting of its kind in history.
