Philadelphia police have arrested a man who allegedly threw a woman onto the tracks at a subway station. The woman managed to get off of the tracks and escape the situation with only minor injuries. Police finally announced the arrest on Thursday, two days after the incident took place.

The woman was reportedly sitting on a bench when William Clark asked her for the time and a light for his cigarette. Next, police say that Clark grabbed her by the neck and started punching her.

Investigators from the Philadelphia police and Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA) said information about the arrest was not released until Thursday because Clark was identified by his jacket and refused to compromise the investigation by leaking that information.

Clark was arrested at a plaza near City Hall, and the woman's cellphone was found inside of his jacket. He was charged with aggravated assault and theft, and is being held on $2 million bail. Authorities believe that he may have mental health issues.
