A U.S. citizen was arrested at JFK International Airport in New York City over the weekend for trying to smuggle cocaine into the country.
Gothamist reports that a U.S. Customs and Border Protection K-9 tipped inspectors off to a suitcase that was aboard a Nov. 16 flight from Port of Spain, Trinidad. Authorities led Jerrita Baker to a private room, and five pounds of a white powder were discovered during a search. That white powder tested positive for cocaine, and officials say the quantity is worth an estimated $87,000.
Baker currently faces federal drug smuggling charges.
