In Arizona, they start them early, with “them” being alcoholics. Valerie Marie Topete was arrested for topping her two-year-old son’s sippy cup off with beer. She apparently saw him reaching for a pitcher at a pizzeria in Phoenix, so she granted him his wish. Someone noticed and called police, who arrested Topete upon arrival.
The boy was taken to the hospital, and then turned him over to his father. Topete is being held on suspicion of child abuse, and hopefully she hasn’t created a monster. We’re sure she’d feel terrible if her son was shotgunning beers by Kindergarten.
