The identity of another American who was killed while fighting in Syria for ISIS this past weekend has been released.

According to Fox News, Minneapolis, Minn. resident Abdirahmaan Muhumed, 29, died in the same battle that claimed the life of 33-year-old Douglas McArthur McCain. While the State Department confirmed McCain's death earlier this week, spokeswoman Jen Psaki declined to do the same for Muhumed, telling Fox News "We're looking into it," yesterday.

Fox News adds that a source informed them that Muhumed's family had seen a photograph of his body:

A source told Fox News that Muhumed's family had been sent a photo of his body from Syria, but had not been formally notified by the State Department. Fox News was unable to contact the family.

A profile that Minnesota Public Radio put together earlier this year cited FBI information stating that as many as 15 young men from the Somali-American community in the Twin Cities ventured to Syria to join ISIS. The Daily Intelligencer notes that McCain grew up in the suburbs of Minneapolis before moving to San Diego, but it remains unknown if he knew Muhumed prior to going to Syria.

The New York Daily News reports that a friend of Muhumed's characterized his progression to more radical beliefs as "very unpredictable."
