Paul Feig's Ghostbusters reboot with an all-female cast is one of the most anticipated films of the year. Starring Melissa McCarthy, KateMcKinnon, KristenWiig, and LeslieJones, the film has garnered loads of media attention due to its revamping of an originally all-male cast. Before the reboot hits theaters this summer, the original version of Ghostbusters from 1984 will return to theaters for the 32nd anniversary of the film's release.

Sony announced that the original Ghostbusters will air via Fathom Events, which means it will be shown in AMC, Regal, and Cinemark theaters on June 8 and again on June 12, the A.V. Club reports.

If you live in or near Brookly, you won't want to miss a particularly special viewing event. A warehouse will be converted into an authentic version of the original Ghostbusters headquarters where attendees will be able to sport proton packs while they watch the movie.

The original Ghostbusters stars Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis, and Ernie Hudson as the team of ghost catchers, with Rick Moranis and Sigourney Weaver co-starring. Ivan Reitman directed the film, and Aykroyd and Ramis wrote it.

If the basic plot of  Ghostbusters has slipped your mind, or if it's been a while since you've seen it, going to see the original for the special anniversary could be a good refresher before the reboot arrives in theaters on July 15.
