Wait, is American Horror Story: Freak Show going to be a musical?
Legendary singer Patti LaBelle has joined the cast of Freak Show, and will be playing the mother of Gabourey Sidibe's character. According to TVLine, Labelle’s role will see her as “a local townsperson who begins to unravel the murderous secrets of Twisty the clown killer.”
The very idea of a “clown killer” already has us terrified, by the way. It’s like every child’s worst fear come to life.
The whole premise of this season is stunningly creepy; Jessica Lange runs one of the last freak shows in the U.S., and the cast of misfits will do anything to keep their show going. We assume this likely means murder, or at best extreme acts of terror.
The show is currently filming in New Orleans, and will begin airing this October. We’re already pretty scared.
