After an appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers last week in which he espoused his love of The Bachelorette, Brian Williams continued his media hot streak last week by cracking a joke that few newsmen would dare attempt.
Remember the government shutdown last year? If you don’t, here’s a one sentence refresher: the government stopped working for 16 days last October because of a battle in congress over the budget, so nobody got paid.
Apparently, that does not mean it stopped people from getting laid.
A local Washington, D.C. station is reporting that this month, one local hospital has seen three more babies than normal born per day. For those of you who not doing the math, we are now nine months past the date of the shutdown.
The humor of the situation did not escape Williams, whose joke is hilarious, if a bit inappropriate. Enjoy.
