Alice Englert
Occupation: Actress
The daughter of Oscar-winning director Jane Campion, Englert's a natural-born Hollywood starlet. Before diving into big studio films, Englert polished her talents in the charming film festival favorite, Ginger and Rosa, alongside Elle Fanning.
Having proven her acting chops, the actress is gearing up to make her mainstream debut as the bewitching Lena Duchannes in Beautiful Creatures, a film adaptation of the best-selling young adult fantasy novel series by authors Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl, which is set to fill the supernatural void that Twilight and Harry Potter left behind. —Tara Aquino
Jane Levy
Occupation: Actress
As the star of one of the most underrated sitcoms on TV today, it's fair to say 22-year-old Jane Levy isn't getting enough shine. The comedienne, often compared to Emma Stone (thanks in large part to her fire-red hair), took on a couple of supporting roles this past year, namely, in Nobody Walks and the Victoria Justice-starrer, Fun Size. However, Levy is poised to make her debut as a top-biller (and transition from funny girl to scream queen) as the star of the Evil Dead remake, out next April. —Tara Aquino
Rebel Wilson
Occupation: Actress
With a name like Rebel (among siblings whose names are Ryot, Annachi and Liberty), the 28-year-old actress was bound to become one of the most buzzed about women in Hollywood. After buoying performances in two of the most hilarious movies of the past two years, Bridesmaids (as Kristen Wiig's oddball roommate with the infected worm tattoo) and the underrated Pitch Perfect (as Fat Amy, the a cappella group's one-liner machine), Rebel Wilson has established herself as a comedic force to watch out for.
To break down her appeal, we'll put it this way: she's one-part the best friend you wish you had, one-part the perfect wing girl and two-parts the life of the party. You just can't help but enjoy watching her on screen.
Kicking off 2013 with a supporting role in Glee's Chris Colfer's coming-of-age romp Struck by Lightning, Wilson will also star in the Michael Bay action-comedy Pain and Gain, film the ABC pilot for her self-written sitcom Super Fun Night, and host the 2013 MTV Movie Awards. —Tara Aquino
Anais Mali
Occupation: Model
The list of runway models is endless (and almost indistinguishable), however, the French up-and-comer Anais Mali is certainly standing out. After appearing in several editorials for major publications such as Vogue and Harper's Bazaar and working with world-renowned photographers such as Steven Meisel and Mario Testino, the 21-year-old stunner was enlisted for Miu Miu's pre-Fall 2013 resort campaign and made history by being the first black model to ever cover W Korea.
With the fashion bigwigs finally catching onto her, Anais is on her way to becoming one of those supermodels you remember simply by the sound of their first name, just like Gisele, Cindy and Naomi. —Tara Aquino
Cara Delevingne
Occupation: Model
You'll be hearing a lot more about model Cara Delevingne in 2013. You may recognize her as the current face of Burberry's Beauty campaign and last season's spring/summer 2012 campaign, but it doesn't stop there. She just signed a deal to be the face of DKNY for spring 2013, which will be photographed by Patrick Demarchelier as a return to the brand's classic roots.
The reason she's not just another pretty face splashed all over magazines and H&M or Chanel ads is that she has a fun, outgoing personality that transcends most "model behavior." She plays the drums, has slumber parties with Azealia Banks (invite?!), and tweets pictures of herself eating burgers. 2013 is undoubtedly her year to show and tell.—Cedar Pasori
Soo Joo Park
Occupation: Model
Just one look at this Korean beauty and you're completely entranced. Accentuated by her platinum blonde hair, her otherworldly appeal coupled with her southern California-bred laid back vibe makes it easy to see why she's got the potential to be the next big thing in modeling.
Park, who recently walked for Vivienne Westwood's Spring/Summer 2013 campaign in Paris, kicked off the year with spreads in Vogue Italia and Elle (among others) and bookended it with another in Dazed and Confused. Keep an eye out for her in every major magazine, as she's clearly becoming an editorial mainstay. —Tara Aquino
Haley Wollens
Occupation: Stylist/Director
Downtown NYC's biggest under-the-radar "It Girl" is quickly making waves. With her eccentric signature brand of styling, count on the 26-year-old visionary to be a staple in the fashion industry. —Tara Aquino
Jeanette Hayes
Occupation: Artist
24-year-old Jeanette Hayes only recently graduated from the Pratt Institute of Art and Design in NYC, but she's already making huge strides in the art world. Her paintings and collages bring together high and low culture, often combining something like a classic Renaissance work with GIFs or screenshots from Photobooth, YouTube, and Twitter.
Last September, she was in a widely acclaimed group exhibition at NYC's Half Gallery alongside Girls star Jemima Kirke and Jay Miriam titled, Hearsay, where she showed her Botticelli Photobooth series. It stood out as an indication of our contemporary condition—torn between the past and the future, as the art world often can be, as well.

Solange Knowles
Occupation: Singer
Solange Knowles, the most desirable bachelorette in NYC right now, could have just been the backup singer her entire life. That's what she was doing at 15 for her older sister, Beyoncé's, group Destiny's Child. However, she's making a name for herself outside of Bey's fame. She has released two studios albums, Solo Star, in 2003 and Sol-Angel and the Hadley St. Dreams in 2008.
Solange disappeared from the mainstream music scene until this year, when she dropped her catchy single, "Losing You." She's prepping to debut her first EP on Terrible Records, True, which she released digitally in late November, on CD and vinyl come early January. With her newly refined brand of dance music, it's definitely her time to become a hit. —Lauren Nostro
Angel Haze
Occupation: Rapper
We've seen a lot of female rappers pop up over the past couple of years, but perhaps none quite as interesting and complicated as Angel Haze. When The New York Times asked her who she admires in hip-hop, she answered, "I can’t really even name a person I like in hip-hop music." The 21-year-old Brooklyn-based MC almost passed on trying to focus on music so she could go to college and study to be a neurosurgeon, but one listen to her intensely personal and fiercely confident deliveries and it sounds like she was made to be a rapper.
Even though Angel Haze is quickly earning a reputation as one of the premier MCs on the rise, she's still not sure if rapping is what she wants to do. She's taking guitar and vocal lessons and setting herself up for a transition outside of hip-hop, but first things first—she'll be kicking off 2013 by releasing 5 EPs (yes, really), and her album should drop around May. It's too early to predict what Angel Haze will be doing by the end of next year, but based on what we've seen so far, this unique young artist is destined to be one of the year's biggest things, whether she's in hip-hop or not. —JM
