Is This Detroit? Or Is This a War Zone?

Imagine a game in which you are shown a series of photographs. You're sitting in a chair, and on the table in front of you are two buttons. For every photo that looks like Detroit, you hit the button on the right. For every photo that looks like a war zone, you hit the button on the left.

It'd be a tough game.

All of the photos you're about to see are, in fact, of Detroit, the city that has become the go-to symbol for the decline of America. It's history is rich and complicated, but right now the Motor City is hurting. Just look.
