Earlier this week, Marvel Comics (now the exclusive publisher of Star Wars comics) and Disney announced plans to publish two new comic book series that will bridge the gap between 1983's Return of the Jedi and the upcoming The Force Awakens

Today Marvel released the first artwork from one of them, Star Wars: Journey to The Force Awakens – Shattered Empire.

It includes Han, Chewie, Luke, C-3PO, Lando Calrissian, R2-D2, a couple of Ewoks and some lady who we deduce is Princess Leia, but does not really look like Princess Leia.

Anyway, as far as clues go, you're not going to find out much about what happened between Jedi and Awakens from the cover art, except that everything was just fine and everyone smiled a lot.

The series will debut in September, and is expected to wipe out a lot of the Star Wars universe created in the many comic books that came out between Jedi and The Phantom Menace
