Bella Hadid Denies Plastic Surgery: 'We Can Do a Scan of My Face, Darling'

Bella Hadid opened up about how she deals with body shaming haters in a new interview.

Largely due to the fact that the internet basically treats super famous people like total crap, supermodel Bella “Homebody’s Gonna Get It” Hadid has always had to deal with accusations of plastic surgery and general comments about her body. The 21-year-old model has learned to deal with it but insists she’s not had any work done—in a new interview with InStyle, she specifically denied getting lip fillers and even dared haters to do a “scan” of her face to prove them wrong.

"People think I got all this surgery or did this or that," she said. "And you know what? We can do a scan of my face, darling. I'm scared of putting fillers into my lips. I wouldn't want to mess up my face."

Bella also opened up about how she related to her body growing up—top tip: watch early episodes of the The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, when Bella’s mom Yolanda was on the show to see baby Gigi and Bella—especially in relation to her sister. She remembers being bullied for her facial features as a teenager, proving that you can never satisfy the haters, plastic surgery or not.

"I had a small waist and big hips and was kind of chubby," she said. "I love them now, but I was always self-conscious of my hips—whereas my sister had a six-pack and was very athletic. And I thought I had such a weird face. I remember very distinctly getting bullied because of my features."

When it comes to the online bullies, Hadid told InStyle that it took “a long time,” but she has now learned simply “not to listen.”

"I turn my phone off and remember that the people around me are the only ones whose opinions I really care about,” she said. “Why would I read those comments? They are usually coming more for my character than for my face, which is more hurtful."

"I don't [respond]," she added. "I've learned that people are going to hate you and there's nothing you can do about it except be yourself and love yourself.”

Still, though, the comments she does see can get to her. “I feel people's energy very intensely. Often I think, 'I just want to meet you and tell you I'm not a bad person. You don't have to be mean to me.'"
