If you're still woozy from the Marvel x Sony superhero extravaganza known as the first Spider-Man: Homecoming trailer that dropped last night, and need to take your mind off of the ever-expanding MCU, Fox has got you covered. On this chilly December morning, they released the first trailer for the third installment of their rebooted Planet of the Apes series, War for the Planet of the Apes, which is set to hit theaters July 14, 2017.

This film picks up where 2014's Dawn of the Planet of the Apes left off, with Caesar and his squad getting justice for Harambe still going head-to-head with the humans. Andy Serkis returns as Caesar, but one interesting addition to this flick is Woody Harrelson, who will be playing the Colonel that is waging war against said apes.

In a word, this trailer definitely feels "epic," with the term "cold war" taking on an entirely different meaning.

Matt Reeves, who directed 2014's Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, is back in the director's chair for War. Here's the official synopsis for the film, via 20th Century Fox.

"In War for the Planet of the Apes, the third chapter of the critically acclaimed blockbuster franchise, Caesar and his apes are forced into a deadly conflict with an army of humans led by a ruthless Colonel. After the apes suffer unimaginable losses, Caesar wrestles with his darker instincts and begins his own mythic quest to avenge his kind. As the journey finally brings them face to face, Caesar and the Colonel are pitted against each other in an epic battle that will determine the fate of both their species and the future of the planet."
