Earlier this week, we learned that Johnny Depp and Amber Heard have filed for divorce. We also learned that Heard is accusing the actor of verbal and physical abuse, which is evident by a photo she submitted to TMZ that’s been making its rounds online.
TMZ reported that a judge has granted Heard a restraining order against Depp, which requires him to remain 100 yards away from her. However, The Walking Dead’s Laurie Holden believes we need to know the truth about Depp before we jump to conclusion. Here’s what she said on Twitter Friday night:
I, for one, am going to see Johnny Depp's new movie. His personal life is just that. Personal. No one knows the real truth so just zip it.

It didn’t take long for people to share how upset they were with her tweet.
@Laurie_Holden I'm really disappointed in you Laurie, I liked you but disregarding the victim while supporting the abuser? That's horrible

@grimestrash "you dunno what happened" is fair, but "his personal life is personal" is egregious. Assaulting someone isn't a personal matter

@Laurie_Holden Hello Human Rights Activist, sorry for breaking it to you, but you need to go back to school and get educated, learn humanity

I don't even follow Laurie Holden but for that comment I should follow just to unfollow. What kind of shit? She's defending Depp?!?!? Wtf?!?

From there, Holden decided to send out another tweet defending her words. To be fair, she has a point.
To be clear: I am just saying DON'T JUMP TO CONCLUSIONS. Even a pic might not be telling the whole story....

Although Holden was just showing her support for Depp and his new film Alice Through the Looking Glass, it certainly wasn’t received that way. She ended her night with this tweet:
Goodnight twitter warriors!
— Laurie Holden (@Laurie_Holden) May 28, 2016
Holden might have to lay low for a bit.
