It looks like we have some clarification Seth Rogen's mysterious tweet about who'll be starring as main character Jesse Custer in the Preacher TV series he's producing.

1.

And now we have our Jesse Custer...

According to The Wrap, Custer will almost certainly be played by British actor Dominic Cooper. You might recognize him as Tony Stark's dad Howard Stark in the first Captain America movie.

In the Preacher comic books, the Custer character is a preacher who gets possessed by a creature known as Genesis, who, in the process, kills everyone in the congregation and bestows unnatural powers upon him that rival God himself. It's one of the most wondrously blasphemous things ever written, and if you've read it, you were probably a little shocked when they announced it was coming to AMC.

2.

Then, along with a hard-drinking vampire and his ex-girlfriend-turned professional assassin, Custer goes on a mission to (literally) find god, who has abandoned his heavenly duties.

Other big casting news announced in the past few weeks includes that ex-girlfriend, Tulip, who'll be played by Ruth Negga, Joseph Gilgun as that vampire, Cassidy, and Ian Colletti as Arseface

This series has been in the pipeline since at least 2013. Rogen and Evan Goldberg are going to produce as well as write and direct the pilot.

Update 4/17/15 (2:20 p.m.): Dominic Cooper is officially in. Seth Rogen confirmed the news today on Twitter.
