HBO's standalone streaming service was announced last year, but we've waited until now to get a name, a (sort of) date and, most importantly, a price.
HBO Now, which will basically be HBO Go without the need for an HBO premium cable subscription, will debut in early April, presumably just before the premiere of the new season of Game of Thrones.
According to the International Business Times, the service is going to cost $15 a month, which puts it at about double the cost of its more established competitor, Netflix. Of course, Netflix doesn't have nearly as much to offer in the way of original programming, but does have much more (some would say lower quality) content overall.
