It's been nearly 15 years since the ocean's cold hands plucked Wilson from Tom Hanks' life in Cast Away. Depending on how you look at it, Wilson was either the one thing keeping Hanks sane or indication that he'd gone fully nuts. Regardless, it was a cruel split. But fate has brought together Wilson and Hanks once more.
Tom Hanks was at last night's Rangers game, where he was emotionally blindsided—on the jumbotron for all to see—by a reunion with his long-lost companion. He's happy, yes. But clearly the reality of the moment hadn't hit him yet. It wasn't until Hanks got home and had the opportunity be alone with Wilson that his true emotions could surface.
Give them some time to heal, people. Fifteen years is a long time to think your friend has been dead at sea.
