Police in New York were surprised to learn that a woman seen driving recklessly in a Walmart parking lot last week was doing so because she crushed not one, but two bottles of vanilla extract.

Syracuse.com reports that 46-year-old Carolyn Kesel told police she couldn't find her way out of the Macedon, N.Y. Wamart's parking lot last Monday. Somehow, Kesel, who was trying to get back to her Seneca Falls home, ended up in the wrong direction and caught in a maze.

Kesel reportedly downed two "hand-sized" bottles of vanilla extract prior to getting behind the wheel. Police said that its alcohol level is 41 percent, and that Kesel ultimately blew a .26 when a breathalyzer was administered.

She was arrested and charged with both driving while intoxicated and aggravated driving while intoxicated.
