Ryan Murphy’s next project—besides Scream Queens—is American Crime Story, yes, the title a riff on his ever-so popular American Horror Story. The show will follow the self-contained season format seen in AHS with a different crime story. That being said, the first season will take on the O.J. Simpson case and Cuba Gooding Jr. and Sarah Paulson have been cast as the leads.

Cuba Gooding Jr. will portray O.J. Simpson, while Paulson, a longtime Murphy associate, starring in the American Horror Story series, will play prosecutor Marcia Clark.

The first season, American Crime Story: The People vs. O.J. Simpson is based on Jeffrey Toobin’s book The Run of His Life: The People vs. O.J. Simpson.

The series will reportedly take viewers behind-the-scenes of the O.J. Simpson trial with the lawyers perspectives. Shooting for the show will begin next year.
