Daniel Bruhl is one of those guys who's name isn't too familiar, but you definitely know his face. Perhaps that will change now that he's the villain in what's sure to be another giant blockbuster for Marvel, Captain America: Civil War

Marvel announced the casting with a news release posted to its website today.

The Spanish actor hasn't done a ton of movies that will be familiar to Americans, but the ones he has done have been great. He played the Nazi "hero" who can't take a hint in Quentin Tarantino's Inglourious Basterds, and played opposite Chris Hemsworth as his Formula One racing rival Niki Lauda. He was also in The Fifth Estate, which wasn't so great, but that was hardly his fault.

Another fun fact, according to Bruhl's IMDB page: he was born Daniel César Martín Brühl González Domingo. I'm glad we won't have to try to remember that one.

Also, although it's pronounced the same way, do not confuse him with Dr. Steve Brule:

Captain America: Civil War is expected to pit Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) against Cap in the fight over whether superheroes must register with the government, as the storyline did in the Civil War comics. It comes out in 2016.
