With Bill Cosby in the news so much lately due to the multiple sexual assault allegations against him, it was only a matter of time before late night TV started to (delicately) make jokes at his expense.
Last night, Conan O’Brien and Seth Meyers both took the first cracks at Cosby, although due to the extremely sensitive nature of his alleged crimes, they kept the jokes pretty tame. Both also acknowledged how fine a line they were walking, Meyers more obliquely through an interaction with an “audience member,” and Conan with a subtle, wide-eyed whistle.
Whichever quip you prefer, this will probably be the beginning of an onslaught of Cosby jokes on late night TV. And it’s safe to assume all of them will go over better than Sarah Silverman’s tweet from two days ago.
