Boating Accident Leaves Four Dead in California

Four people were killed yesterday after a fishing boat capsized off the Northern California coast.

According to the Associated Press, the accident was first reported by a mariner around 10 a.m. near Bodega Bay, Calif

Sgt. Cecile Focha of the Sonoma County Sheriff's Department told the Associated Press that none of the passengers were wearing life vests. The bodies of 60-year-old David Costa, 79-year-old Jessie Daniel Langley, and 86-year-old Samuel Garcia were retrieved by a Coast Guard boat. The lone survivor, 66-year-old Phillip Sanchez, managed to swim to safety.

 Focha described the incident as "such a tragedy, such a loss."
