If you watch Key & Peele (or even if you don’t), you’re likely a big fan of their substitute teacher sketch. Well, get ready to love it for 90 minutes or more, because Mr. Garvey is coming to the big screen.
In an interview with EW, the duo revealed that a movie centered on this three-minute segment is in the works. “We’re in negotiations at Paramount to make a Substitute Teacher movie. Two of our writers are penning it. Well, they’re not penning it as we speak — it’s getting there.”
It may seem ridiculous to give someone who was funny in a short clip his own movie, but hey, remember The Ladies Man? Or Superstar? Those were movies too, so this isn’t really that much of a reach.
