It’s officially a comedy apocalypse.

Some of the biggest names in the comedy production game are getting together to make a movie, and if their histories are any indication, we could be in for a classic. Ben Schwartz will write and co-star alongside Seth Rogen, who will also serve as a producer along with his usual partner Evan Goldberg. Anchorman’s Adam McKay will direct, which means we’ll probably get a cameo from his production partner Will Ferrell.

While absolutely zero details of the film itself are unknown, the team behind it makes it sound incredibly promising. Rogen and Goldberg are obviously excited, saying in a statement:

“Every 2000 years, the planets of our galaxy align in a perfect line that funnels the cosmic energies of the universe to flow into one perfect comedic collaboration. The time is now. This is that project. Nothing will ever be the same. McKay and Schwartz are real smart, well-endowed guys, and we couldn't be more excited to be working with them.”

It’s all love from McKay too, who said:

“Evan and Seth have been doing amazing things and we're so excited to work with them. Ben, not so much. Most of my problems with him are personal ones, but I have to give it up. He did come up with a great idea.”

No word on when production will start, but let’s hope that they get moving soon.
