Kristen Stewart is trying to make the switch from Twilight to seriousness, and who can blame her? After all, Robert Pattinson's been doing the same thing lately with much critical success. Earlier this year, Stewart turned heads with the Sundance Film Festival premiere of Camp X-Ray, while in May, she was at Cannes with Clouds of Sils Maria, which earned rave reviews.

Although neither film has a set theatrical date yet, Camp X-Ray should have one soon, since IFC Films is rolling out new images, like the ones above. Directed and written by Peter SattlerCamp X-Ray finds Stewart playing a young woman who joins the military to be part of something bigger than herself and to get away from her small town life. Eventually, her character ends up as a guard at Guantanamo Bay amongst aggressive jihadists and squad mates. Stewart develops an unlikely bond with a detainee, and as the two are on opposing sides of the law, they struggle to find their way to a friendship in the face of hostility.

Although Camp X-Ray was met with mixed reviews at Sundance, Stewart's performance fared much better. Yup, you can now officially start calling it Guantanamo Bae.
