When AMC announced that it was putting a Breaking Bad prequel spin-off into production revolving around Bob Odenkirk’s Saul Goodman character, titled Better Call Saul, fans immediately started to speculate who would reprise their roles from the original series. Now Deadline is confirming that Jonathan Banks will be back in the role of Mike Ehrmantraut for the show. Ehrmantrauta is a former Philly police officer who becomes an enforcer in Gustavo Fring’s meth business during the events of Breaking Bad.

Banks appeared frequently on Breaking Bad, from the end of season two through season five. This move makes sense, especially given Ehrmantraut's connection to Saul Goodman. The site is also reporting that he will be a regular on Better Call Saul, instead of just a simple cameo appearance. So far, Banks and Odenkirk are the only two actors confirmed for the series, which is slated to premiere this November.
