A helicopter drone crashed and just missed hitting a man walking beside a street Monday evening in NYC—so remember to keep your eyes in the sky, or you could lose your life.
The businessman who was only a few feet away from where the drone crashed, recovered a memory card from the debris. The footage shows the drone flying above the East Side of Manhattan, going twenty to thirty stories above the streets and sidewalks near Grand Central. The device weighed about 3-pounds and could have injured the man had it hit him directly (or anyone else during the day's rush hour). The film seems to show the drone knocking into a building, and start to tumble toward the ground below. Perhaps, surprisingly, the man called police and showed them the video, to which they did nothing, because they said no law had been broken.
