A Russian Orthodox youth group has unveiled a video game yesterday that gives players a chance to "kill" members of the punk band Pussy Riot.
The bands protest last year in a Moscow cathedral sent shockwaves throughout Russia.
Two women from Pussy riot are currently serving two-year jail sentences for hooliganism motivated by religious hatred and for their "punk protest" which the head of the Russian Church called a campaign to curb its post-Soviet revival.
The game was featured at a Russian Orthodox youth festival - those exist apparently - in central Moscow where Boris Yakemenko, the organizer, explained; "You have to kill them with a cross before they get into the church, that's the point,"
Players mouse-over cartoon representations of the women in the band, balaclava laden and heading toward a white church, to zap them with an orthodox cross. If you "fail" and one of the band members reaches the church they start playing guitar and a little red devil dances on the screen.
Not exactly the quality of Super Noah's Ark 3D as religious gaming goes. In Soviet Russia, church kill you!
