12. Publicizing Death Wishes
Ban Worthy Offense: Abusive language
It's finally time to hit up a therapist and work out the anger issues that are making you bully out on other people-even if they're in your own family. Wishing death and threatening people aren't only frowned upon by Xbox moderators, there's zero tolerance for it. Go get a cold drink and count to ten the next time the Incredible Douchebag decides to take over your body.
11. Attempting To Steal And Play An Upcoming Title
Ban Worthy Offense: Theft Of Intellectual Property
Back in 2012 at the Penny Arcade Expo in Boston, Justin D. May was arrested and detained for trying to steal a copy of the game Breach. May said that he was just trying to get on the internet by using an Ethernet cable at the Atomic Games booth but the company said that when they checked his laptop, there was about 14 megabytes of the game on it. Ironically, May attended an earlier panel given by Xbox and asked a panelist how he could get unbanned from Live. When asked why he was banned in the first place, he admitted to obtaining an illegal copy of Forza 3 and trying to play it online. Given the later circumstances, you can bet that Xbox banned everything other gamertag that remotely looked like May's.
10. Spamming Other Gamers
Ban Worthy Offense: Being a public nuisance.
No doubt, everyone should be reading your blog about how every video game sucks but aside from your pals, don't take people's kindness for accepting your lame friend request for an opportunity to send endless messages about your groundbreaking game reviews or music game changing mixtape. We've all got Twitter and Facebook to ignore you on.
9. Starting An Illegal Xbox Video Games Shop
Ban Worthy Offense: Piracy
The world of Xbox Live isn't the spot to hack illegally downloaded and burned video games. If you try, having a mod banish you from Live would be the least of your troubles. There's a good chance that the feds will be knocking at the door with a shiny pair of handcuffs in your size. Don't do it no matter how much of a come up you may think it is.
8. Dumping Where You Eat
Ban Worthy Offense: Breaking the confidentiality agreement
If you're lucky enough to score a job at Xbox, it's not the wisest decision to publicly slam the very customers you're supposed to be catering to. Just ask former Xbox Creative Director Adam Orth. Get slick with the tongue and in no time, you'll be trying to ressurect a failed music career and begging club owners in Williamsburg, Brooklyn to get onstage at open mic shows.
7. Continuously Challenging The Moderators To PlayStation Only Games
Ban Worthy Offense: Harassing the staff
Fine, you're all about the Sony PlayStation and your loyalty can stop bullets. That doesn't mean that anyone besides you and your friends actually care. While it may be badass to your crew, it's only going to annoy the people trying to do their jobs and get your gamertag that much closer to being red-ringed.
6. Adult Webcamming Via Kinect
Ban Worthy Offense: Using Xbox Live For Pr0n
You're surely not the first to think about it and you certaintly won't be the last, but don't even think about it. The moderaters have a hard enough time chasing down sexist oinkers and racist little kids so the last thing they need is to see you flaunting your ones and zeros.
5. "I Work Here, I swear"
Ban Worthy Offense: Impersonating Xbox Staff
You better be one hell of an actor to not get the boot for telling people you work for XBL support staff. "Unplug the thing...the thing in the back. The thing with the wires. Yes, there is a service charge. Give me money." Yup, that'll do it.
4. Being A Garage Mod MacGruber
Ban Worthy Offense: Cracking open a console like an oyster to rearrange them guts.
What's that? You made it so you can play pirated games and homebrews? You've installed so many LEDs that it looks Halloween and Christmas went yuck yuck in your console's lap? Of course Microsoft is going to find out and bounce your ass.Your account and your console now have permanet life bans. Have fun with your cracked European edition of Baynoetta, or whatever.
3. "Can I C Ur B00bz?"
Ban Worthy Offense: Sexual harassment
No matter what the environment is, being a mysogynist idiot is never funny. If you want to see b00bz, there's millions of internet sites for that. That girl/woman paid for her video games just like you did so she should be able to play in peace. The next time you get the urge to ask for a sandwich or someone to clean your house, take a minute or so to think about how much of a thirsty loser you'd look like explaining to your buddies that you can't go on Xbox Live because you acted like a bootlegged Pepe Le Peu.
2. Putting Your Live Account Up For Sale
Ban Worthy Offense: Trying to sell your Xbox Live Account
We get it, times is hard. Maybe you've had to buy your games second hand, maybe you have to sit on new releases till they come down, but selling your account? How does that work exactly? Or, wait. Are you actually a Nigerian prince in exile that just needs a new XBL account so you're able to access your overseas bank accounts? Oh, sweet. You should have just said that. I'll be rewarded handsomely. Yeah, here's my login.
1. Having A Terrible Gamer Tag
Ban Worthy Offense: Naming yourself all of the curse words.
With all of the enhtusiasm of a 10 year old discovering the F-word for the first time, you created a kaleidoscope of unprintable expletives. When you combined traditional Western swears with some new ones MIcrosoft had never heard of, you got banned just in case 'Los Flasta' is offensive.
