Thou Shalt Not Fuck With People in the Service Industry should be the 11th Commandment. The picture above appeared on Reddit, and it shows the receipt of a pastor who refused to adhere to a St. Louis-area restaurant's automatic 18 percent gratuity added to parties of eight of more.
The server posted the photo and explained that the pastor visited the restaurant with a party of 20, then asked to have the bill (which was over $200) split up so he wouldn't have to pay that 18 percent. "They had no problem with my service, and told me I was great," the server explained.
The pastor wrote "I give God 10% — why do you get 18?," above the extra charge, crossing it out. He also declined to give the server an additional tip and signed the receipt as "pastor." What an asshole.
