With the recent news that Atari U.S. is filing for bankruptcy, and their many many assets to be sold off, it's good to see some positive news about retro games.

ShiftyLook has announced a webcomic adaptation of the classic Namco/Bandai arcade game, Galaga. Galaga for as unceasingly awesome as it is, didn't have much in the way of plot or narrative. Shoot the alien insect formations, double up on your starfighter, rinse, repeat.

Luckily for us the webcomic will create an entirely new backstory for the Galaga universe to exist in. The series wil be written by Ryan North (Dinosaur Comics), illustrated by Christopher Hastings (The Adventures of Dr. McNinja), and colored by Anthony Clark (Beartato).

Galaga updates twice a week on Mondays and Fridays and you can check out the first few strips right here. We think this take on Galaga is pretty heated. Take a look and let us know what you think.
