Sony is taking a step in the right direction with their latest Wipeout announcement.

The PlayStation Network title Wipeout HD and its Fury expansion are now available as a $12.99 DLC pack (or $7.99 separately) for the PS Vita's Wipeout 2048, but if you already have them on PS3 you'll be able to download the content to your Vita for free.

In addition, if you buy the DLC packs you'll be able to download the older PS3 versions.

With the Vita granting portability to console-quality experiences, it can be tempting to purchase two nearly identical versions of the same game. That's no doubt what Sony's hoping will occur with upcoming titles like PlayStation All-Stars: Battle Royale, which will be similar on both PS3 and Vita.

But hopefully more two-for-one deals like this pop up as the experiences continue to become more and more similar.

As Sony releases more dual games, will you prefer the PS3 or PS Vita versions? Tell us in the comments or on Twitter.
