Some funny men take time to find their comedy groove, but Dave Chappelle seems to have had it before he was even was a man.
In this video from a 1993 episode of Star Search, Ed McMahon introduces 19-year-old Chappelle as "the youngest comedian to ever appear on Star Search history. He tells us he's also appearing in court." Chappelle then goes on to deliver a perfectly polished routine that is amazing in just how Chappelle-like it really is. Rather than adopting a stage persona over time, Chappelle's delivery and tone seem to be something he had all along.
We believe they call that "talent".
