11. WIkipedia's Logo Made Sense

Compromised page: Wikipedia

Year: 2001

According to its own Wikipedia page, the Wikipedia logo is "an unfinished globe constructed from jigsaw pieces—some pieces are still missing at the top—inscribed with glyphs from many different writing systems." There's just one problem: some of these characters used in the logo are meaningless. The New York Times reported that two of the characters—one in Japanese and other in Devangari, the script used in Sanskirt and some modern Indian languages—were drawn incorrectly and are therefore meaningless. Wikipedia in 2009 decided to update the logo and correct those errors.
