According to The Hollywood Reporter, SyFy has ordered a one-hour pilot script for a series based on the DC Comics character, Booster Gold. The project will be a part of Greg Berlanti's production company, Berlanti Productions, and will be written by Andrew Kreisberg, who has written the comic book series Green Arrow and Black Canary and Batman Confidential

The series, much like the comic, will revolve around Booster Gold, a failed athlete from the future who travels back in time in order to become a superhero solely for the purposes of wealth and fame. Booster eventually gets over the greed that initially drove him and quickly becomes one of the most virtuous members of the superhero community.

Even though the character has been around since 1986, he didn't achieve mainstream notoriety until he became a regular on the popular animated series Justice League: Unlimited and had a brief appearance during the 10th season of Smallville
