Hacks in Netherlands Forces Country To Abandon E-mail, Modern Technology

Back to the Pony Express they go.

None

Some hackers leak private e-mails. Others, like Comodohacker of Iran shut down countries.

Comodohacker has claimed responsibility for the recent cyberattack on Dutch security firm Digitnotar, which issues security certificates by which many Dutch government websites guarantee their authenticity. He then set up fake websites with the certificates and stole users’ personal data in places such as Google and Twitter.

Moreover, because government sites have been deemed insecure and unstable, courts have advised agencies and officials to revert to paper mail and fax. Just think: there’s probably a generation of kids people who’ve never sent a letter in their lives. Let’s pray this never happens here.
