Plans for a pair of "Facebook phones" from HTC were revealed a while back under the oddly cute names "ChaCha" and "Salsa," but neither handset ever actually materialized. Now, according to a report from BGR, the Facebook-integrated phone formerly known as the "ChaCha" is now the considerably more appropriate "Status" and is coming to AT&T in the near future. No word on what's become of "Salsa."
What exactly does a Facebook phone get you? Well, a dedicated physical button for launching the Facebook app. for one. And a special Facebook Chat widget, for two. The Android-powered device is small, but features a roomy full QWERTY keyboard. Facebook fanatics can expect the Status to drop in the coming weeks.
